The ancients often spoke of "the sadness and loneliness of autumn", yet our campus in this golden October presents a vivid scene entirely different. When the afterglow of the setting sun gilds the gentle hills behind the campus, and when morning dew lightly clings to the plants along the students' way to school, a new week quietly begins amid such poetic beauty.
古人常道“秋日悲寂”，但十月的金秋校园，却藏着截然不同的鲜活景致。当落日余晖为校园后山的缓丘镀上暖金，当晨露轻沾在学子上学路边的草木，新的一周便在这般诗意中悄然开启。
The focused pursuit of knowledge in classrooms remains etched in our minds, the cheers on the sports field still echo in our ears, the contemplation during science exhibitions lingers before our eyes, and the wonderful ideas in art exhibitions fill us with delight. All these vivid scenes are the throbbing pulse of the vibrant life on campus.

Get ready to be inspired! This week, the students in Mr. Abhi's Pre-Calculus AB class demonstrated the incredible power of mathematics when it leaps off the textbook page and into the real world. The classroom was buzzing with excitement as students delivered captivating presentations on the "Transformation of Functions," showcasing not just their mathematical prowess but also their creativity and interdisciplinary thinking.

The project challenged students to work in pairs, choosing a unique topic and applying the concepts of function transformation—such as shifts, stretches, and reflections—to a real-world scenario. The result was nothing short of amazing.

Students invested in significant research and effort, exploring a diverse range of equations including quadratic, logarithmic, square root, and sine functions. They didn't just solve problems; they solved mysteries of the world around us.

Predicting the Forces of Nature: One group took the recent typhoon that impacted our region as a case study. They masterfully used sine function transformations to model the cyclical nature of the storm's intensity and predict potential changes in sea level. This powerful application showed how mathematics can be a vital tool in understanding and preparing for natural events.

Furthermore, they used transformed quadratic functions to analyze the elegant arc of projectile motion, bringing textbook diagrams to life with practical, dynamic examples.

Grade 9 Honors English Language and Composition students created imaginative adverts that offered solutions to real challenges faced by BIPH high school students. Tasked with designing a product or service that could make life on campus easier, they had to think creatively while applying the persuasive strategies studied at the start of Quarter 1: emotional appeals, logical reasoning, and the power of credibility.
九年级荣誉语言与写作课程的学生们设计了富有想象力的广告作品，这些作品针对BIPH高中生面临的实际问题，提供了相应的解决方案。在这个作业中，学生需要设计一款能让校园生活更便捷的产品或服务：既要发挥创意，又要运用**学季初所学的说服策略——情感感染力、逻辑推理能力以及可信的影响力。
Their adverts showcased their grasp of rhetoric and their ability to craft engaging impactful messages that connect with high school students. Some standout creations include AeroStep, a backpack-to-pants-to-shoes suit designed to make rushing between classes effortless, and the Flex-Watch, a time-management device that miraculously gives students extra hours in the day for both schoolwork and fun.
