This season, learning isn’t confined to textbooks—it’s in the curious hands testing scientific wonders, the laughter weaving through cultural explorations, and the determined strides chasing goals on the field. "What is learned from books is superficial; true knowledge comes from practice." Guided by this wisdom, every corner of our campus becomes a classroom: where young minds don’t just read about the world, but touch, feel, and live it. It’s in these moments—of discovery, collaboration, and grit—that education truly takes root, nurturing hearts and minds to grow as vibrantly as the autumn foliage around us.


当秋阳为校园镀上鎏金,清风吹拂着簌簌落叶,BIPH 正涌动着成长的静谧魔力。这个季节,学习从未被局限在课本里,它藏在探索科学奥秘的好奇掌心,融在文化体验中交织的笑声,刻在赛场追逐目标的坚定脚步里。“纸上得来终觉浅,绝知此事要躬行。” 循着这份智慧,校园的每一处都成了生动课堂:孩子们不只是阅读世界,更是在触摸、感受、亲历世界。正是在这些充满发现、协作与勇气的瞬间,教育真正扎下深根,滋养着一颗颗心灵,如身旁的秋日枝叶般蓬勃生长。

Psychology is the systematic and scientific study of behavior and mental processes, and for AP Psych students, it often unfolds as a journey of fascinating discoveries—one that’s educational as it is entertaining. A standout class activity involves perception of goggles: these specialized tools either shift students’ vision leftward or flip it completely upside down, turning simple daily tasks into hilarious challenges. Trying to walk in a straight line, stack cups, or even high-five a partner becomes a comedic struggle, as their brains initially process the distorted visual input as "normal," leading to wobbly movements and amused laughter from the whole class.


心理学是对行为和心理过程的系统性科学研究,而对于AP心理学的学生来说,这门学科往往是一段充满意外发现的旅程,兼具教育意义与娱乐性。本节课的一项亮点活动是使用感知护目镜:这种特殊工具会将学生的视觉向左偏移或完全上下颠倒,把简单的日常任务变成有趣的挑战。走直线、叠杯子甚至和同伴击掌这种平常的小事突然变成了滑稽的难事,因为大脑最初会把扭曲的视觉输入当作“正常信号”,导致动作失稳,引得全班哄堂大笑。

Yet the activity isn’t just for fun—it’s a vivid demonstration of perceptual adaptation. Over a series of guided exercises, students gradually adjust: their brains start to reinterpret the shifted or inverted visual signals, refining their motor responses bit by bit. By the end of the session, many can complete tasks with far more accuracy, proving how the brain actively constructs and adapts to its perceptual environment. This hands-on experience not only makes abstract psychological concepts tangible but also leaves students in awe of the brain’s remarkable flexibility and power.


但这项活动并非只为娱乐,它生动展现了感知适应的概念。在一系列引导性练习中,学生们逐渐适应:大脑开始重新解读偏移或倒置的视觉信号,一点点优化运动反应。到活动结束时,许多人已能更准确地完成任务,这证明了大脑会主动构建并适应其感知环境。这种亲身实践不仅让抽象的心理学概念变得具体、真切,更让学生们对大脑惊人的灵活性和强大适应性感叹不已。

Exploring Friction in Action物理课堂之发现摩擦力

Our Honors Physics students participated in a hands-on lab to explore the intriguing world of friction - a force we encounter daily but seldom consider. Using simple ramps and common classroom objects, students examined how surfaces interact by measuring and comparing both static and kinetic friction coefficients. The experiment included slowly raising the angle of a ramp until objects started to slide, allowing students to identify the critical angle and compute the coefficient of static friction. As a challenge, they investigated kinetic friction by modifying the ramp to discover the angle at which objects slide at a constant speed.


在荣誉物理课上,学生们参与了一项实验:探索摩擦力。这一有趣的物理概念,是我们日常随处可见却鲜少深究的力学分支。学生们利用简易斜面和常见的课堂器材,通过测量并对比静摩擦系数与动摩擦系数,研究了不同接触面之间的相互作用和影响。实验中,学生们缓慢抬高斜面倾角,直至物体开始滑动,以此确定临界角并计算静摩擦系数。作为拓展挑战,他们通过调整斜面,探究物体做匀速滑动时的倾角,进而研究动摩擦力的特性。

A standout moment unfolded when a group of students, after putting in a lot of effort through careful trials and adjustments of the ramp, successfully identified that the coefficient of kinetic friction was always lower than that of static friction, doing so with remarkable precision. They went on to share their understanding of the physics behind their findings with their classmates, showing a genuine passion for learning Physics. Mrs. Kimmy Singh felt a greater sense of pride in their dedication, teamwork, and curiosity, which genuinely exemplified their scientific reasoning. It served as a valuable reminder of the joys associated with discovery and collaboration.


实验中一个精彩瞬间令人印象深刻:一组学生经过多次细致的尝试与斜面调整,凭借极高的精准度成功验证了 “动摩擦系数始终小于静摩擦系数” 的结论。他们还向同学分享了实验结论背后的物理原理,展现出对物理学的真挚热爱。Mrs. Kimmy Singh 老师为学生们的专注投入、团队协作与探究精神深感自豪,这些品质充分体现了他们的科学推理能力,也让大家再次感受到科学发现与团队合作带来的乐趣。

Through this activity, students not only applied physics concepts in a tangible way but also developed skills in observation, data collection, and reasoning. The lab sparked thoughtful discussions about real-world applications in the next class - from hiking on slopes to car tires gripping the road. It was a fun and insightful experience that brought physics to life and deepened our understanding of the forces that shape motion in our everyday world.


通过这项活动,学生们不仅将物理概念转化为实际应用,还提升了观察、数据收集与逻辑推理能力。下一节课上,实验引发了关于摩擦力实际应用的深入讨论,从斜坡徒步到汽车轮胎的路面抓地原理等多个场景。这是一次既有趣又富有启发的体验,它让物理学变得生动鲜活,也加深了我们对塑造日常生活中运动现象的力的理解。
